Applications for landmark nominations and Certificates of Appropriateness must be submitted in advance of meeting dates. Each meeting date has a separate landmark application and Certificate of Appropriateness application deadline. Agendas are normally mailed to Preservation Commission members one week in advance of the meeting.

Regular meetings are scheduled for the fourth Wednesday of each month (except November and December) at 4:00 p.m. Meetings are scheduled at 5:15 p.m. to consider landmark or historic district designation applications. On a requested basis, the Preservation Commission will hold informal advice sessions for landmark owners considering exterior alterations to their properties. These advice sessions will be scheduled before a regular meeting at 3:30 p.m. or after a regular meeting (time estimated). The Preservation Commission regularly meets in the Personnel Conference Room in the basement of Rock Island City Hall, 1528 3rd Avenue, Rock Island, Illinois. If a larger crowd is anticipated, meetings will be moved to the Council Chamber on the third floor and signs will be posted.
