BOARD OF ZONING APPEALS
Duties
The Board of Zoning Appeals (BZA) consists of seven (7) members who are appointed by the mayor and approved by city council in accordance with the provisions of the Illinois Compiled Statutes. The Board has jurisdiction in matters pertaining to administrative review, certain industries in I-2 districts, interpretation of maps, nonconforming uses, special exceptions, temporary uses, and variances.
Term
Three years.
Public Meetings
Regular meetings are scheduled for the second Wednesday of each month at 7:00 p.m. The Board of Zoning Appeals regularly meets in the Council Chambers on the third floor of Rock Island City Hall, 1528 3rd Avenue, Rock Island, Illinois.
