International homes after World War II segued into the Contemporary style. Cantilevered sections of the house and roof without visible support from the main body of the home were a hallmark, along with multiple roof levels. Front doors were usually unaccentuated and there would be large sections of blank, windowless walls, paired with corner windows. These elements are evident in the Zukerman House. Integration into the landscape is a feature of the Contemporary style. The use of the walled courtyard remains on from houses of the 1950s, but here it is highlighted with stones of different depth and color. With the slight rise and the hill, the home makes good use of the rolling setting.
This home was built circa 1960 for Jack and Rosalie Zukerman. He was employed by B & M Electric. By 1965 the home was owned by Robert J. and Esther Cramer. He was a salesman and later a distribution manager for Chicago Paper.
