Please be as specific as possible with describing the records you are requesting. If you are requesting a police report and know the police report number, such as 2017-000000; type in the police report number.
According to the Illinois FOIA Law "Commercial purpose" means the use of any part of a public record or records, or information derived from public records, in any form for sale, resale, or solicitation or advertisement for sales or services.
It is a violation of the Freedom of Information Act for a person to knowingly obtain a public record for a commercial purpose without disclosing that it is for a commercial purpose, if requested to do so by the public body. 5 ILCS 140/3.1 (c)
I understand that no charges are imposed for the first 50 pages of black and white, letter or legal sized copies. Any additional pages are 15 cents per side. A fee will be charged for color copies, abnormal size copies, and electronic copies (CD or DVD). A fee of $5.00 is charged for Illinois Traffic Crash Reports.
